Rederiaktiebolaget Eckerö was founded on March 2, 1961 and is the parent company of the Eckerö Group, which consists of three business areas.

The Group operates passenger and car ferry services on the Åland Sea through Eckerö Linjen and on the Gulf of Finland through Eckerö Line, as well as freight traffic between Åland and the mainland through Eckerö Link. In total, the fleet includes 4 vessels.

Today, the Eckerö Group has approximately 850 employees. In 2024, the annual turnover amounted to about 223 million euros, and the Group transported around 3.1 million passengers and about 190,000 freight units on its own routes.
